Doubts we hear

The questions contractors ask before they put AI on a live bid, and our straight answers.

01

“Why not just use Claude or ChatGPT ourselves?”

Everyone has the gym membership; very few have the abs.

We are personal trainers. We tune AI to your specs, bids and estimators, test it on dozens of your past jobs until it beats your history, and stay with your team until using it is just how the office works. Our AI workers are consistent and trustworthy.

If you are already there, you don’t need us.

02

“We can build on our own in Claude or ChatGPT.”

You could self-perform every trade too, and there’s a reason you don’t.

AI that holds up on real bids takes tuning, testing on dozens of past jobs, and months of trial and error your team doesn’t have time for. We are the specialty sub: we have done it before, we finish faster, and you own everything we build.

03

“Not right now. We have too much going on.”

Every week you wait, your competitor’s AI learns another week of their work.

  • Start now
  • Wait 12 months
  • The head start you can’t buy back
Speed, accuracy and capacity

You can buy software anytime, but you can’t buy back a head start. Busy is the reason to start, not the excuse to wait.

04

“What’s the ROI? Are we too small for this?”

How much would it cost to hire one more estimator, if you could even find one?

An AI teammate should cost a quarter of that or less, and it never leaves for the competitor down the street. If you have work worth taking off someone’s plate, you are big enough.

05

“AI isn’t accurate enough to trust on a live bid.”

Neither is your new junior estimator, and you still hired him.

Before AI touches a live bid, we test it on 20 to 40 of your past jobs, where you already know the answer, and it doesn’t get the job until it beats your history. After that it drafts, your senior estimator checks, and it gets sharper every week.

06

“Show me someone like us who has actually done this.”

We have worked with GCs and specialty contractors extensively.

Once we have confirmed the fit, we will introduce you directly, and you can ask them anything without us in the room.

07

“Who owns what you build for us?”

You do.

Your estimating know-how is your secret recipe; we are just the chef who helps write it down. It lives in your systems, runs on your accounts, and stays with you whether we stick around or not. Your bids never become someone else’s playbook.

08

“Will this work with our existing systems, like HCSS, WinBid or Procore?”

We don’t rip and replace anything.

Your systems of record stay as they are. For example, AI prepares the Excel inputs and WinBid stays untouched. Where a platform publishes APIs, as HCSS does, we connect through them. Most teams start with SharePoint, Excel and Outlook, which need no new licenses.

09

“Our estimators will think this is coming for their jobs.”

Nobody lost their job to the calculator. They lost it to the guy who used one.

AI takes the grunt work, like counting fittings, chasing addenda and retyping quantities, so your estimators can do what you actually pay them for. We train every team on how to use it, not how to fear it.

10

“What happens when the AI is wrong or cannot find an answer?”

The same thing that happens with a good junior estimator: he says, “I’m not sure, can you check this?”

Our AI flags what it can’t find instead of guessing, and it shows where every number came from, so your estimator can verify it in seconds. When it’s wrong, you correct it once, and it learns not to repeat the mistake.

Why Plumcot exists

In life, there are a few moments you always remember. When magic happens.

  • The first time I read the names of every student in my class.
  • The first time I got my hands on a computer.
  • The first time I stepped onto my college campus.
  • The first time I played with my iPhone.
  • The first time I wrote a love letter to my future wife.
  • And then the first time I worked with GenAI to write, to code, to think.

It was magical. These moments inspire you to act. To do something bigger than your normal.

I took the leap.

My mission is to bring the magic of AI to every CEO, to every company. I call it AWI: Artificial Working Intelligence.

AWI is about making AI work for you. Not just experimenting with AI, but making it work for you. Serving more customers, winning more deals, saving an hour a day, spending time with your family: that’s when we move forward as humanity.

If you have felt that AI magic too, and you want to build it into your company, I would love to talk.
